Samsung has handed its Australian media portfolio back to Publicis Groupe under its global "connected capabilities" model — capping a pitch season that also saw Zenith land Tourism Australia.
Publicis Groupe has won back Samsung's Australian media account, with the electronics giant consolidating its local media portfolio under the holding company's "connected capabilities" model following a five-month competitive pitch, as first reported by Mumbrella.
The win caps a heavy pitch season for the network's Australian operation. Zenith Media, part of Publicis Media Australia, was separately appointed to Tourism Australia's media services on an initial three-year agreement running from July 2026, following a competitive tender.
Elsewhere in the pitch wrap: Advertising Advantage picked up media duties for second-hand fashion marketplace Vinted as it builds its Australian presence, Wavemaker Adelaide won the South Australian Tourism Commission's major events media account, and independent creative shop Emotive was appointed by The Iconic after a competitive pitch.
Why it matters for Australian agencies: consolidated global alignment deals keep flowing to holding companies with unified data and technology stacks — the "connected capabilities" pitch is winning against best-of-breed rosters. Independents are countering by winning specialist and challenger-brand briefs, but the biggest media budgets in market are consolidating, not fragmenting.
